about

This song is written by me, Árni and the core of the song, which is the guitar strumming was born while our month-long trip to Mexico. We live in cold Iceland ,so we were very high on vitamin D at that point and enjoyed just being outside. The choir element comes from my obsession of Gospel music while ago. I used to go to see Gospel in a small town in Iceland, Gardabaer and I loved the sound of it. Lyrics are a bit abstract, but there’s a line, “They called me Jesus”, that actually happened in Cuba, I guess because of my long mouse-gray hair. Hard it pinpoint all the influences, but I was listening a lot to Beach Boys at the time and read Keith Richards biography that summer and both things shaped the song a bit in its own way.

lyrics

Time will confiscate
what will all believe in
to impersonate
the hours on the run

the called me Jesus
said someone on the streets
I got everything
what every man needs

I'm undefeated
While everyone will lay underground
So undefeated
I'll be around when thing go down

How far is Egypt
said the woman in the skirt
Please, try to come around
and to not interrupt

They spoke like preachers
and showed it on TV
but I saw him in the clouds
he reached his hand to me

I'm undefeated
don't you try another running around
But do we need it
when the bells stop making that sound.

But I got your back
when we walk the track
just to see the one
laying on the ground.

about

Pale Moon Reykjavík, Iceland

Arni and Natasha started working together on music in 2017. First EP was released in 2019. Single "Exile" is a song that bridges the generation gap from 60's psychedelia, to today's indie rock and pop craze. There’s a relaxed brightness that radiates from their tracks, warm and enveloping – and filled with good feelings. Pale Moon aren’t afraid of sweeping harmonies and catchy songwriting. ... more
